"Abomination of Mind"
(WormholedeathRecords; 2026)

"Abomination of Mind" is a masterfully performed and well-produced collection of heavy metal tunes, with a sound that's reminiscent of traditional metal with a freshness that's mostly noticeable in its guitar solos, which seem sharper and more pronounced here. This album has all the traditional metal tropes: crunchy guitar, a pounding bass, precision drums, and a vocalist with a solid voice that fits the genre.
And it's a great listen. If you're in the mood for some traditional metal performed with a modern twist by musicians who are proficient and tight as a unit, you could do much worse than "Abomination of Mind."
All that being said, Sagittarius doesn't really deliver anything new and unique here. That's not a bad thing, depending on what you're looking for. And, sometimes, I just want to listen to 35 minutes of pure heavy metal. "Abomination of Mind" fills that void. But if you're looking for something that evolves the genre, takes a few chances, and surprises you a little bit with each track, Sagittarius may not be the right band for you.
Please keep in mind, I'm still recommending this album. The musicianship is incredible and the production is crisp, clear and dynamic. It's just that it all sounded a little familiar, not that you've heard it before but that you've listened to the genre enough to recognize the little bits and pieces you love in the albums that have proceeded this one. Again, not a bad thing. "Abomination of Mind" is quick (with less than a 35 minute runtime), solid and delivers the goods.
