METALLICA's live performance at New York's Roseland Ballroom, on Tuesday, November 24th, will air live on MTV at 9:00 PM. The Roseland show is the last of the band's "Ballroom Blitz" tour in which they played small clubs in Chicago, Detroit, Toronto and Philadelphia to promote their new album of cover songs, "Garage, Inc." due in stores the same day. It's rare that MTV is worth watching these days so make sure to set your VCR...

Add L7 to the list of bands releasing live albums this year. "L7 Live: Omaha to Osaka" will be released on Man's Ruin Records on December 4th. The album contains sixteen L7 tunes - three never-before-released - recorded during the band's recent shows. Also in the works is an L7 movie by Krist Novoselic entitled "The Beauty Process." For more information, check out the L7 website at http://www.smellL7.com...

...Eric Brittingham, bassist for CINDERELLA, is said to have been upgraded from critical condition to serious condition after an auto accident on Sunday, November 7th. The band's current tour will continue as Brittingham recuperates, using a temporary replacement bassist for their live performances...

...Okay, so maybe not every ticket to the upcoming ROLLING STONES tour will be $300. But some will. In fact, in some places, tickets are expected to go as high as $600 apiece. (The average ticket price, however, will be around $75). The band's "No Security" album is now in stores...

...PUSHMONKEY have signed with the William Morris Agency. The band was named "Best Hard Rock Band" two years running at the annual Austin Music Awards during South by Southwest and have just released their debut CD on Arista records (click here to read our review). Chuck LaVallee of William Morrie will represent the band who are managed by Bill Ham/Lone Wolf Management Co. (ZZ Top)...

Available at the site (located at http://www.sublimedirect.com) will be the complete Sublime music catalog, t-shirts, jerseys, posters, videos and other memorabilia, as well as special items such as autographed posters and musical instruments that will only be available on the internet. Also available will be merchandise from the "Long Beach Dub All Stars," the new group formed from the remaining members of Sublime. Other artists who have merchandise websites available through ARTIST Direct are Slayer, Korn, Ozzy Osbourne, Beastie Boys, Marilyn Manson and the Rolling Stones...

...One band has decided that an internet store just isn't enough. MOTLEY CRUE will open their very own merchandise store, called "S'Crued," on Thursday, November 19th, at 5:30PM. The store, located at 7201 Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles, will offer merchandise from all of the band's worldwide tours, clothing from both Nikki Sixx's and Vince Neil's clothing lines (Outlaw and Bad Bones, respectively) and all Motley Crue albums. Also available will be exclusive tickets to the band's December 15th performance at the Wiltern Theater in Los Angeles (Tickets will also go on sale at Ticketmaster on Saturday, November 14th). According to drummer Tommy Lee, "S'Crued is going to be the rock'n'roll 7-11 from hell." The band will be attendance for the opening along with other special "surprise" guests...

...So BLACK SABBATH didn't make the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, huh? Wha's up with that? BILLY JOEL, BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN and PAUL McCARTNEY did and - though it's hard to disagree over their induction - we feel that BLACK SABBATH is just as deserving. Just who are these Rock and Roll Hall of Fame voters anyway?...

...TED NUGENT has announced that his last talk radio program will be November 24th, 1998. The Nuge is reportedly "in retirement" and will not perform or record for at least a year. A solo record and a new DAMN YANKEES album are now both on hold. There is talk, however, that he will appear at his annual Whiplash Bash New Year's Eve Show...

...KIRK HAMMETT is doing well after an emergency appendectomy in London this weekend. Hammett was in town doing press for METALLICA's upcoming double covers CD, "Garage, Inc," due November 24th (You can pre-order it from CDNow by clicking here...)

...Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson of RUSH will participate in a live chat on November 5th at TWEC.com. The band will no doubt be doing a lot of promotion over the next few months in support of their just-released triple CD collection. Click on the link above for more info...

...Did KISS inadvertently steal the licks to ALICE COOPER's "Eighteen" when they recorded "Dreamin'" on the new "Psycho Circus" album? Six Palms Music Corp. seems to think so. In a lawsuit filed October 21st, Six Palms, which is the publishing company for "Eighteen," complains that "Dreamin'" is "substantially similar" to "Eighteen." We've given both tracks a fresh listen and have come to our opinion - but we'll hold off announcing it until you've done the same yourself. Click here to take the Rough Edge Alice vs. KISS poll...

...Planning to see the ROLLING STONES on their upcoming tour? Hope you've saved up. Tickets are reportedly going to run about $300 each when the band tours the U.S.'s smaller arenas (as opposed to the sold-out stadiums of previous tours.) Sources say the tour could wind up generating over $100 million...

...Trick or treat. According to the Mark & Brian Show, KISS - in full costume and make-up - were on their way back to their hotel from their successful Dodger Stadium show in Los Angeles when traffic suddenly brought their limo to a halt. Being as the hotel was only a scant six blocks away - and the fact that it was Halloween - , the band decided to hoof it.  Not surprisingly, no one gave them a second look, however, one bystander was rumored to have commented, "Boy, you guys must really be into KISS."...

...We heard that THE KILL rocked the house hard during their performance at the legendary CBGB's in New York and followed up with a terrific Halloween performance in Atlanta. In perhaps more important news, a source close to the band tells us THE KILL has been chosen as one of five finalists in the Motley Crue "Kickstart Your Career" contest in which lucky undiscovered bands will score opening slots for the upcoming Crue tour...
