...Earl Johnson has released the following release regarding the recent passing of BILL WADE:

Bill Wade passed away on Friday July 27 at 8:05 in the morning after a painful 12 month battle with cancer. We have respected Bill's wishes and had not let his illness become public knowledge until now. He will be buried today at 1:00 pm and with him a part of the legacy of the band will be buried as well.

Bill was a founding member of MOXY and an inspiration to the songs me and Buzz composed on the first MOXY album because of his distinct and unique playing abilities. He was an extremely well respected musician here in Canada and amongst our peers from the touring days of the 70's.

It is a bitter moment for me personally, as we have lost the man responsible for putting the band back together. Bill's work and dedication in producing and engineering MOXY V will not be in vain. Buddy, myself and the rest of the band have received many emails from fans who have encouraged us to go on in Bills spirit and we will.

Buddy Caine lost a close personal friend in Bill as well, as they had maintained a working and personal friendship from their late teens until now. Bill had stayed with Buddy and his wife Nancy who took care of him, for about a month before he was hospitalized in the later stages of his illness.

Today we bury a brother who lived and breathed music from the day he was born. He will be deeply missed by all. Bill is survived by his brother John and is to be buried with his mother and father.

We thank the people at KZEP and T-Bone for their dedication to Bill yesterday and to Jeff Woods for the memorandum to be played today on Q-107. Q will play a song at 12:50 just prior to the beginning of the funeral service at 1:00 pm. We especially thank all those fans who have sent in their condolences to our website and email address...
