...CATHEDRAL's "Endtyme" will be released on Tuesday, April 3rd. Inserted among the regular pressing of the CD will be special gold foil editions, limited to only 5,000, so keep your eyes peeled. The band will also release their "Our God Has Landed" VHS on DVD with bonus footage from the London Astoria "Gods of Grind" show of 1992. In addition, the band is on tour in the U.K. (click here for tour dates) and will head over to the States on April 7th for the New Jersey Metal Fest...

...Bassist MATTHEW GERRARD has left VON GROOVE, citing "musical differences." Regardless, the band's new CD, "The Seventh Day" is all but completed and will be released later this year. So far, no replacement for Gerrard has been discussed, but the band will continue... 

...The recently re-formed TYGERS OF PAN TANG are in the studio, working on demos for their forthcoming CD, already entitled "Mystical."... 

...SAVANNAH will play at Woburn Senior High School in Woburn as a benefit for the families of the Edgewater Technology shootings that happened the day after Christmas. The band will play from 6:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. with all proceeds being donated to the Edgewater Fund...  

...Keyboardist DEREK SHERINIAN, formerly of DREAM THEATER, has completed recording
for his new CD, "Inertia." Also featured on the CD are ZAKK WYLDE (who contributes to two
tracks, one of which is a cover of the Edgar Winter Group's classic "Frankenstein") and STEVE
LUKATHER of TOTO. TONY FRANKLIN provides the bass and JERRY GOODMAN plays
on violin. "Inertia" is described as a combination of "metal, jazz-fusion and progressive rock." The CD will be released on the InsideOut imprint on April 17th... 

...Also from InsideOut is the latest CD from EVENT. The band, described as a "cutting edge, progressive hard rock band" will play with SYMPHONY X on March 2nd at L'Amours in Brooklyn, NY. Switching back to scathing social commentary, the new release takes on hypocrisy that frontman Blackie Lawless thinks is running rampant. Says Blackie, "Unholy Terror deals with socio, religious and political hypocrisy. I had a fundamentalist Christian upbringing and I grew up seeing the world through a very different pair of eyes. This album attempts to draw attention to those hypocritical points of view. ...THE MYSTICK KREWE OF CLEARLIGHT have been forced to cancel their tour after thieves stole their equipment from a hotel parking lot in Dallas, Texas. The band was on tour with CLUTCH, CORROSION OF CONFORMITY and SPIRIT CARAVAN but will now have to bow out thanks to some thieving scumbags. ...STEPHEN PEARCY has sued his former bandmates in RATT, claiming they breached a contract and that they disseminated false information over the Internet. As of the moment, neither Robert Blotzer, Warren DeMatini or manager Tim Heyne have commented on the lawsuit...

...W3G, aka WHITE TRASH THIRD GENERATION, are on the road. The band will play the following gigs over the next couple weeks and, according to Snidermann, they are a band you should see. The band is also at work on new studio recordings. Stay tuned for more info...

...FRICTION, featuring Steve Grimmitt on vocals, Nick Burr on guitars/vocals and Gavin Cooper on bass/vocals, has signed to Z Records. At the moment, the band has no permanent drummer but plans to record a new album in April for release in August 2001...

...VON GROOVE's "The ‘Seventh Day" is now completed and will be released later this year...

...SYSTEM OF A DOWN will head into the studio this month to record their next record. Legendary producer Rick Rubin will be at the helm. The band has holed themselves up in a rehearsal studio since last October, spending nearly six hours every night writing and rehearsing a total of 25 new songs, all of which will be recorded and then sifted through to decide which ones will appear on the CD. Says guitarist Daron Malakian, "We're really anxious to get back into the studio, but don't expect us to make the same record over again. The new material is more melodic, but in a powerful, intense way. The vocal harmonies that Serj and I do are along the lines of Pink Floyd or Radiohead. But don't get me wrong, this will have all the elements of a System of a Down album." The new album is due to be released this summer...

...ALICE COOPER will appear as himself on the February 6th episode of Fox TV's "That '70s Show." That same day, Cooper fans will also find themselves enthralled with the release of the "Billion Dollar Babies" Deluxe Edition, which includes a digitally remastered version of the original album plus an entire disc of unreleased live and demo performances...

...PETER CRISS is apparently out of KISS and ERIC SINGER is back in. That news was released on KISS's official website with the news that Singer will finish out the band's ultra-successful "farewell" tour. Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons and Ace Frehley will also complete the tour... 

...LIMP BIZKIT has bailed on their Australian tour, concerned over the safety of their fans after a few were injured during the Bizkit's performance in Sydney. The band issued a statement saying they were "shaken" by the injuries and by the "cavalier attitude towards fan safety" by the tour organizers. According to reports, one woman suffered a cardiac arrest when the crowd surged forward and later died. Six others were taken to the hospital with injuries such as heat exhaustion and back complaints and an additional 600 were treated for heat-related problems. Police, however, say that the event was relatively calm, considering its 55,000 people count. The band's statement went on to say, "We love our fans but we don't want them to get hurt. We'll be back to Australia to play for our fans under our own terms and with proper safety and security."...

...Looks like STAIND (or at least vocalist Aaron Lewis) is taking a page from the history of KISS. "Outside," an acoustic ballad, was virtually overlooked when it appeared on the Family Values Tour 1999 live album but has recently been turning up on more and more radio station playlists. Anyone remember "Beth" off KISS's "Destroyer" album? The band's new CD, "Break the Cycle" is due on April 24th and will contain a full-band studio version of "Outside."
