...QUEENSRYCHE guitarist Michael Wilton got a pleasant surprise recently, when his $5,000 custom-made ESP Vintage Plus guitar - which was stolen from Wilton five years ago - suddenly turned up at a recording studio in Redmond. Studio owner Todd Walker recognized the guitar as one being played by Bill Brumlow of DREAM TRAIN. "I was terrified when I found out," said Brumlow, who returned the guitar immediately to Wilton. Brumlow said that he had purchased the guitar two years ago from a collector. Wilton was "elated," stating "There are so many rats in the music business that, when something like this happens, it just gives me hope." Wilton plans on taking the guitar on the band's summer tour. Here's hoping he asks Bill Brumlow and DREAM TRAIN along for the ride...

...Nearly naked ladies and hard rock music? C'mon - you know you want to know more. Well, okay, then: It's the Pleasures night club in Pasadena. While great hard rock/heavy metal bands play on stage, bikini dancers gyrate their stuff nearby. Sounds like the Rob Zombie show at the Orange Pavilion. Check it out yourself when HELARAGE opens for THE L.A. GUNS at Pleasures on February 20th...
...Mats Lillienberg has lessened his involvement in HUMAN RACE. According to guitarist Robert Hansson, "Mats...has decided to take a step back from Human Race. He will though be a part of HR and perform with us on stage. But most important, there are absolutely no hard feelings behind his decision, nothing but personal reasons. Human Race will go on as before. We will enter the studio to record our second full-CD for Z Records as already planned in April! "...

...METALLICA will perform two shows with acclaimed film composer MICHAEL KAMEN and the SAN FRANCISCO SYMPHONY on April 21 - 22, 1999. Kamen - who has done orchestra work for such artists as PINK FLOYD, DAVID BOWIE and ERIC CLAPTON - said of the collaboration: "This is not going to be the easy-listening version of Metallica. The idea is to have Metallica be Metallica and the San Francisco Symphony be the San Francisco Symphony. I think there's more in common than there are differences."...
...CRAIG MARKS, executive editor of SPIN magazine, has filed a $24 million lawsuit against MARILYN MANSON claiming that two of Manson's bodyguards beat him. Marks, 37, claims that he was attacked at Manhattan's Hammerstein Ballroom falling a November 23rd Manson performance. "That's what you get when you disrespect me," the lawsuit claims Manson told Marks after the guards slammed him against a wall and choked him. The mentioned "disrespect" reportedly came from Spin's decision to drop a planned Manson magazine cover. Manson's attorneys deny the attack ever happened. "Our investigations show all of these accusations to be totally groundless," Manson's lawyer, Paul Cambria, told the Associated Press, "The witnesses sharply dispute Mr. Marks' account of what happened." All we can say is thank God we gave Manson three chainsaws for his "Mechanical Animals" release (click here to see our review)...
