...This weekend's Hellfest music festival, scheduled
to take place in Trenton, N.J., has been canceled due to insurance concerns. The
organizers post the following statement on their website: Due to circumstances beyond our control, Hellfest has been cancelled. After a full day in court in Burlington County, NJ, Hellfest was unable to meet unreasonable demands brought to Hellfest's attention by the Sovereign Bank Arena on August 16, 2005 at 6:21 PM, and to be met by August 17, 2005 at 7:00 AM. Actions were taken and Hellfest had an injunction filed by noon on August 17, 2005, but was overruled by the judge.
We send our deepest apologies out to the fans and everyone who was involved with the event and want you to be aware that legal action is being taken. For ticket refunds please contact the Sovereign Bank Arena box office.
...FULLY LOADED, aka FL, will play The Roxy Theater in Hollywood on Saturday, August 20th, at 10:30 PM. Get there by 10:30 and you’re in for free; after that, it’s full price (under 21 has to pay $3 anyway, but you get a free drink so what the heck). The band is also having an after party immediately following the show at the bar above the Roxy called “On the Rox” and invite fans to stop by and have a drink with them. ...Rick Hunolt has left EXODUS to spend more time with his two sons. Says Hunolt on the Exodus website: "Exodus deserves 110 percent from me and I just can't give them that anymore. My boys need me.” Lee Altus, who has played previously with HEATHEN and DIE KRUPPS, will replace Hunolt and, in fact, has already appeared on the band’s “Shovel Headed Kill Machine.”...
...BLIND GUARDIAN have released the following statement regarding their new drummer: "A few weeks ago an unknown guy who introduced himself as Frederik Ehmke applied for the job as a drummer in a fairly firm manner. His vital, expressive and skillful performances of some B.G. classics ('Journey Through The Dark', 'Time Stands Still' and 'And Then There Was Silence') blew us away completely . Pretending not to be convinced we invited him to do a shoot out recording session under real production terms to check out if the creative chemistry would also work out fine.
