Says Frusciante, "I'm releasing these versions because there was so much production on the record. I thought it would be nice for some of the fans who prefer a more raw, stripped down sound. For the same reason I wanted to include the original demos. Some people actually prefer hearing things this way and I really pushed my little 8-track cassette to the limit. I figured I'd do a performance in my living room and put it on the internet so people could hear me doing these songs as if it were a live acoustic show."...

...Cold Blood Industries has issued the following statement regarding some apparent controversy...
    In addition to the recently published news about our record label we would like to add some things, because the news that has been published till now shows a very negative scenario.
    Cold Blood Industries' main goal was to push and release Dutch extreme bands mainly, because we had the feeling that there was so much quality around here that didn't get picked up by any label, so we decided to do it.
    We now know that this was an extremely difficult task.
    The amount of energy we put into it didn't come back in the results.
    This in combination with the current situation in the music industry in general have made us take the decision to stop signing and releasing bands on CBI while our financial situation is still healthy.
    The sublabel Ebony Tears (started in the summer of 2003) proved to be a much more successful idea (for some kind of reason) on which we will now fully concentrate. As Anita Boel (Aardschok) stated in a review recently; "Ebony Tears is a label that has only released good material till now..."
    The mailorder will continue as normal (through the Cold Blood Industries website) and also the availability of the released titles will not be endangered.
    We are very proud of our releases and bands and even more proud of the fact that we managed to build some of them up to actually well known acts (The Wounded (now on Ebony Tears), I.N.R.I, The Monolith Deathcult, to name a few).
    Ebony Tears has emerged from a sublabel to our main label now and expect some great stuff coming up !

...Music by THE SPOOKY KIDS, Marilyn Manson's original band featuring guitarist Scott Puteseky (as Daisy Berkowitz), will finally see the light of day beginning April 20th. "Lunch Boxes & Choklit Cows," a collection of vintage SPOOKY KIDS material, has been re-mastered by Putesky who says: "I recorded all of the demos back in the early '90s, and I still have the four-track machine. I put the tracks in Pro-Tools, cleaned them up, and made them a lot better than even the original cassettes. There are no silly additions, like a dance beat, and nothing taken away. Half of the collection appeared as demos that we put out years ago, and the other half has never been released. Even for hardcore fans, this is going to be interesting." The Spooky Kids is: Marilyn Manson on vocals; Daisy Berkowitz on guitars, Gidget Gein on bass, Madonna Wayne Gacy on keyboards and Sara Lee Lucas on drums...

People usually cover either Small Faces tunes or they do '30 Days In The Hole' from Humble Pie. You've been faithful to the original and it really has balls. I give it the thumb's up!" DuBrow responded: "Being that 'Red Light Mama' is the centerpiece of the album and Humble Pie was always my favorite band, his comments mean the world to me. I'm ecstatic!" DuBrow's new CD will be out sometime next month...

...THE BLOOD BROTHERS are in the studio, working on their new CD. As yet untitled, the CD is expected to be released this fall. The band tested some of the new material during a tour in February. Says vocalist Johnny Whitney: "Our songwriting process just flowed this time, we were writing almost a song a day. And by January, had more than twenty. We needed a way to sort through the songs and determine which ones we wanted to record. We'd never played songs live before recording them and doing it gave us a sense of what worked and what didn't. When we came home from tour, we had made a lot of changes in the songs."...
