ZAK DANIELS AND THE O.E.S.

"Snakeland" (Big Water Records; 2005)

Reviewed by Snidermann

It is a pleasure to finally review a CD with the emphasis on vocals. Too many rock'n'roll bands deal too heavily in guitars or drums, but not "Snakeland." The band plays high quality rock'n'roll music throughout with their great singer enhancing the music, instead of being buried by it.

The songs on this CD weave story after story and each is more interesting because of that. That kind of storytelling quality is so rare in the musical scene today.

Fans of bands like L.A. Guns will love "Snakeland." When you can understand every word and still rock out like a bitch, you know you're listening to a quality rock'n'roll outfit worth their weight in gold.

Oh, yeah - and what does O.E.S. stand for? One Eyed Snakes, of course.
