KEVIN ZUGSCHWERT

"Over the Limit" (Self-produced; 2005)

Reviewed by Snidermann

Sometimes, lyrics get in the way of music. That being said, I must admit that I wasn't a big fan of purely instrumental music. That has changed over the past few years. While reviewing music for RoughEdge.com, I have discovered some excellent instrumental guitarists that have changed my view of what instrumental guitar work is and should be.

Now, Kevin Zugschwert has joined the ranks of Michael Søbygge, Michael Gibbons and Rick Ray (read our reviews by clicking on their names). Powerful guitar music erupts from "Over the Limit" in a wide variety of metal tunes. Zugschwert has a great musical imagination and it is displayed with charismatic flair in each and every tune here.

Simply put: "Over the Limit" rocks.
