WITHIN TEMPTATION

"Bleed Out" (Music on CD; 2023)

Reviewed by Snidermann

I have been reviewing music for a long time and, as I get older, I find the music I review has to have some meaning at the time. Music is deeply personal and, when it connects, I am lucky to have an outlet to express my views. My current project is Within Temptation and their recording "Bleed Out." The music might be called melodic symphonic metal; I call it simply music. The female singer, Sharon den Adel, is a Dutch singer that belts out the tunes like she has been doing it her entire life (actually, she has). Check out the band's website and you can get the lowdown on this highly talented band.

"Bleed Out" kicks in a way that is both fun and satisfying as only good metal can. I am pretty sure this recording has an instrumental track and some demos in it, but that just makes it even fucking better. Twenty-two songs and ninety minutes of music is just icing on the cake. Quality musical presentation is what this recording is about.

If you like your music expansive and with female vocals (I know I do) "Bleed Out" is right up your alley. I do not always listen to heavy symphonic music, but sometimes it just fills a niche that needs to be heard. Within Temptation is a very good band that should be heard and experienced and I can only imagine they kick ass live.

Pretty bad. Might make a nice coaster.

Self explanatory. Just the sight of the cover makes you wanna hurl.
