WE ARE HARLOT
"We Are Harlot" (Roadrunner Records; 2015)
Reviewed by Jeff Rogers
We Are Harlot (or just Harlot for short) are a super
group. It was organized by singer Danny Worsnop formerly of Asking Alexandria
and guitar player Jeff George who slung his axe for Sebastian Bach (and you can
hear some excellent chops via the guitar, it's one of the highlights of Harlot).
This group also has Brian Weaver from Silvertide on bass and drummer Bruno Agra
of Revolution Renaissance. The first two bands I've heard and heard of but the
last two I must have missed. This is their first disc and who knows if more will
be coming from the camp but it would be good to hear a couple of offerings from
these rockers.
Harlot are hard rock. The vocals are clean and straight forward. They've also
got a blues sound on a few tracks. I think they would be great live because the
songs seem to have that fire that would be great to witness first hand. There
are eleven tracks on "We Are Harlot" and each one has power enough to kick your
speakers into overdrive. The guitar really carries the songs along and the
vocals are a great combination. The bass and drums are tight and you get some
interesting instruments emerging after a few listens through. I recommend
grabbing this disc and juicing up your music library.
