STEVE WHITEMAN

"You're Welcome" (Indy Records; 2021)

Reviewed by Snidermann

First impressions are sometimes wrong when it comes to music and Steve Whiteman's record, "You're Welcome," was just that for me.

Good rock should be celebrated and talked about. Well, here I am talking about Steve Whiteman's "You're Welcome." I can say my first impression of this music was all wrong and I am glad I continued to listen to it after the first spin. I finally figured out what was going on with this music and from then on, I was totally on board.

Whiteman  is the lead singer of the band Kix and has finally released a solo recording after forty years ... and what a recording it is. Outstanding guitar work, killer vocals, a harmonica put in just to make it interesting and what you end up with is a recording that you will be singing along with very soon.

One thing I remember about Kix: I liked their music and I like this recording, too. Nice to hear you again, Steve!

So-so. You've heard better.

Pretty bad. Might make a nice coaster.

Self explanatory. Just the sight of the cover makes you wanna hurl.
