VOLBEAT
"Servant of the Mind" (Republic; 2021)
Reviewed by Snidermann
Volbeat is a strange and wonderous thing. Excellence musicianship and strong songwriting that puts you into the audio like you’re listening to a Broadway play. Outstanding everything. This band has been around for twenty years and they have not missed a beat in those years.
This recording has the backing of a major record label and it sounds fucking great. The singer, Michael Poulson, is simply outstanding. He’s someone who sings so good you could imagine him playing on a professional stage anywhere in the world. There aren’t many people I would say that about, but this guy can and does sing like he fucking means it.
I had to go back and listen to some early stuff I was so impressed by this recording and, frankly, the early stuff is great, too. band is now the same as it was back in 2008 when their first release came out.
This band has everything from light punk, great rock’n’roll, and simply one cool vibe right through. It is a travesty of justice that there are not more reviews on this site! Let me tell you motherfuckers that Snidermann is going post more Volbeat reviews in the future!
This is top notch metal. As you listen, you are transported to a sordid reality not of your making. Tight concise music that is delivered into your head through your ears like a bullet through an apple. This shit is awesome and should be experienced loud. Also, go back and check out the earlier stuff; you will be impressed at the overall coolness of this fucking awesome band.
Go to to Volbest online to experience this band the way it should be. The songwriting and presentation of this recording is simply mind-blowing in its brilliance and simplicity.
