"Resurgence" (CD Baby; 2017)

Reviewed by R. Scott Bolton

"Resurgence" by Indianapolis rockers Voices, is a fiery roller coaster of an EP, with tracks that combine melodic music and clean vocals with devastating metal hammer hardcore and demon-from-hell screams.

There's a rush in listening to rock'n'roll that goes from clean-singing melodic to bone-shaking bass throbs from one verse to the next, but "Resurgence" is especially rewarding in its nearly perfectly balanced blend of both. It's almost like listening to a band with two different personalities who come together to create one.

There are only six tracks on this particular release but each and every one of them displays this band's unique talents and leaves you wanting for more.

Voices: Clint Simpson – Vocals; Blaine Gaiser – Vocals; Drake Dell – Guitar; Tim Snoddy – Guitar; Greg Hill – Bass; Dale Rich – Drums.
