VEXT
"Cast the First Stone" (Lakeshore Records; 2004)

Vext's "Cast the First Stone" is as close to metal perfection as I have heard in an eon. From the opening notes, Vext shows their metal muscle in a most impressive manner.
Volatile lyrics, explosive music and a shitload of panache make Vext one extraordinary metal band. Their fresh approach to metal puts them heads above most of the other acts out there today.
The producer of this recording is Michael Barile and he does such a great job, he's almost like the fifth member of this band! I liked everything about this release, from the thought-provoking and meaningful lyrics to the powerful music to the packaging of the CD.
This band from Brooklyn is the real fucking deal! I expect nothing but great things from this band and, in fact, I'm signing off to listen to "Cast the First Stone" again right now!
The band news is that "Cast the First Stone" doesn't hit stores until February 2004, but you can download music from their website now (by clicking the link below).
