"Saw 3D: Music Inspired by the Motion Picture" (Red Ink; 2010)
Reviewed by R. Scott Bolton
The "Saw 3D" soundtrack is pretty solid all the way through. It's a collection of mostly decent tracks by all the bands listed below. The only thing that's kind of weird is that (you should excuse the pun) it doesn't fit together like a jigsaw puzzle. Some of the songs are modern hard rock, some modern metal, some are more hardcore metal, a little heavier and nastier. But it's just not modern metal versus hardcore, there's also a third thing, and that's like Rave-type music. It's a weird juxtaposition that makes the whole album seem uneven.
Still, if you're a fan of most the bands contained herein, especially Hinder, Saving Abel, Saliva and Dir En Grey (all of whom contribute exclusive tracks) you'll find plenty to like here.

1. Never - Saving Abel
