Yet another tribute album to another legendary
band. Featuring the usual cross-blending of interesting renditions:
SEASON OF THE WOLF's raunchy cover of "We Will Rock You"
AZTEC JADE's cover of "The Show Must Go On"
HOTROD OTIS's version of "Another One Bites the Dust"
...the straight-forward covers:
EVIL WINGS's "Killer Queen"
THE LAST BAND ON EARTH performing "Fat Bottomed Girls"
...the overdone:
"You're My Best Friend" as covered by Marci Geller
...the bizarre:
GRAFFITI CIRCUS's cover of "Dragon Attack,"
MAYBEBOP's barbershop quartet-like, acapella version of "Bohemian
Rhapsody"
...and the near-misses:
SPREAD MIND's cover of "One Vision."
As with most tribute CDs, you either have to be a fan of the band being paid tribute or a fan of the bands covering the tunes to really get into this album. Otherwise, you're better off going with the original Queen versions.
Some editions of this CD also come with a second CD featuring original materials by the bands featured hereon.
