"Jailbait: Music From the MTV Original TV Movie" (MCA)
Reviewed by R. Scott Bolton
Not bad collection of tunes by an admittedly eclectic group of popular and not-so-well-known bands with a surprisingly high ratio of good tunes to bad. Tunes range from the strangely Devo-like "Personal Space Invader" by Sugar Ray to the likes of Rob Zombie ("How to Make A Monster") and Methods of Mayhem ("Who the Hell Cares"). Perfect if you're in the mood for a little variety but - at the same time - pretty pedestrian.
By the way, this is the soundtrack to the first original MTV movie.
Tracks include:
All My Fault - FENIX TX
Dumpweed - Blink-182
Personal Space Invader - SUGAR RAY
Twitch - BIF NAKED
Whatever - FAT
Wonderland - FLOODNINE
Warm Machine - BUSH
How to Make a Monster - ROB ZOMBIE
Good Times Roll - POWERMAN 5000
Pity for a Dime - CREED
Who the Hell Cares - METHODS OF MAYHEM
Satellite - SMASH MOUTH
When U Think About Me (Kamikaze Mix) - VOICE V
December - STATIC-X
Rating Guide:
A classic. This record will kick your ass.
Killer. Not a classic but it will rock your world.
So-so. You've heard better.
Pretty bad. Might make a nice coaster.
Self explanatory. Just the sight of the cover makes you wanna hurl.
