VARIOUS ARTISTS
"Faust" Original Soundtrack (Roadrunner)
Reviewed by Snidermann
This soundtrack from the movie "Faust" is comparable to high velocity roller coaster ride. The
CD is crammed full of hard rock tunes unlike anything I have heard since "The Matrix." The list of artists reads like a phone book of
extreme artists and I would be remiss if I did not mention all of them:
Fear Factory
Coal Chamber
Brujeria
Type O Negative
Sepultura
Vision Of Disorder
Machine Head
Obituary
Cradle Of Filth
Soul Fly
Ill Nina
Spineshank
Amen
Glass Jaw
Nailbomb
Deicide
Carnivore
Okay, I'll admit it: There are a few bands here that I am unfamiliar with and
others that I would be hard pressed to listen to a full-length release. However,
with just a song or two you get a taste of the music without having to endure an
entire CD. So the good overcomes the bad.
I also know nothing about the movie, but if the artwork on the CD is any indication - with its blood and beautiful women - maybe I will check it out.
As far as compilations go, this one rocks. HARD.
Rating Guide:
A classic. This record will kick your ass.
Killer. Not a classic but it will rock your world.
So-so. You've heard better.
Pretty bad. Might make a nice coaster.
Self explanatory. Just the sight of the cover makes you wanna hurl.
