TRUMAN

"Payne Avenue" (Geffen)

Reviewed by Snidermann

Truman's talent is undeniable. The music here is a mixture of light rock, excellent songwriting and arrangements that would makes fit FM radio to a T.

However, light rock is the phrase that stands out here. Sometimes, "Payne Avenue" almost lured me to sleep. In other words, it's not really RoughEdge.com material. Still, it's good music, although way too cerebral. It has its place; it just isn't here.

Rating Guide:

A classic. This record will kick your ass.

Killer. Not a classic but it will rock your world.

So-so. You've heard better.

Pretty bad. Might make a nice coaster.

Self explanatory. Just the sight of the cover makes you wanna hurl.
