THE TROPHY

"Gift of Life" (Frontiers; 2009)

Reviewed by R. Scott Bolton

"Gift of Life" Is a more than serviceable and truly enjoyable album. It's an AOR hard rock album that reminds me of one of my favorite bands, Axe. It’s got Journey-like vocals and the music is tight and rocks strongly enough throughout.

There’s nothing new or fresh here but there really doesn’t have to be. There are no songs that really grip or grab you but again, it works for what it is: An AOR/FM-ready album that delivers exactly what fans of the genre want to hear.

Pretty bad. Might make a nice coaster.

Self explanatory. Just the sight of the cover makes you wanna hurl.
