TRIBUZY
"Execution" (Locomotive; 2005)
Reviewed by Snidermann
I like my metal hard, with screaming guitars and wailing vocals and, if you are like me, Tribuzy is right up your alley. Add Bruce Dickinson guesting on vocals and you can't miss.
Okay, now try to keep up with this list of players; it moves fast and hard and reads like a heavy metal Who's Who: Helloween and current Masterplan guitarist Roland Grapow, Angra guitarist Kiko Loureiro, former Helloween singer Michael Kiske, Iron Maiden frontman Bruce Dickinson, Primal Fear bassist Mat Sinner, producer/guitarist Roy Z (Bruce Dickenson, Halford, Helloween), and bassist Chris Dale. If that isn't an impressive group of musicians, I don't know what is, and the quality of that talent is apparent throughout this CD.
Still, although the music is of the highest quality caliber, its sometimes sounds forced and over-produced. Don't get me wrong -- I liked this very notable CD, but overall it didn't do enough for me and I thought, surprisingly, that it lacked character and soul. Technical perfection is not enough too make a good record great.
