TOXIC BONKERS

"Progress" (SelfMadeGod; 2007)

Reviewed by Mike SOS

Long-running extreme metal troupe Toxic Bonkers return with a gripping 10-track offering entitled "Progress." Busting through the gates with no remorse, cuts like the face-rippingly fast "Mainfesto" seamlessly intertwine Napalm Death and Sepultura, while the mauling mid-tempo bass groove sets the foreboding tone for "Hole in the Head."

This Polish quintet's relentless attack on the jugular spawns thick, monstrous songs like "Geophobia" and "Denial" whose unabashed viciousness meshes grindcore drums and hardcore grooves for an excruciatingly enjoyable listening experience.
