THY PAIN
"More Than Suffering" (Clenchedfist Records)
Reviewed by Christopher J. Kelter
Thy Pain is a two-man outfit out of the not-so-hotbed of aggressive metal of Arkansas that have managed to create a compact, seven-song maelstrom of blackened-thrash that draws from many of the idioms of heavy metal.
While the average song-length is a shade above three minutes Thy Pain manage to expertly combine many forms of heavy metal into concise, cohesive units. While some of the influences are obvious, many of the band's influences are melded together into a unique whole.
"More Than Suffering" is an interesting listen and has me eager to hear what the band produces for their next effort.
"More Than Suffering" was produced by Rocky Gray.
Thy Pain is Damien McNeil on guitars and vocals, and David Sroczynski on drums.
