THICKER THAN WATER

"Demo 2001" (Strictly Heavy Management; 2001)

Reviewed by Rose Grech

Thicker Than Water (TTW) has gained a great deal of recognition in their hometown Virginia and surrounding area. Their catchy yet relentless beats and coherent lyrics will draw listeners and keep some satisfied. However, their Southern style, specifically the vocals, is one component that outsiders might have trouble adapting to.

TTW has experience, passion and encouragement.  They are not following the trend craze, like most new bands of today, by mixing techno, rap, hard-core and any other musical elements all in one.  For that I thank them.

Instead they focus on one style.  They are not trying to make everyone happy so they can sell millions of records.  To compare their sound to another band, their overall tone slightly resembles Clutch.
