TARD
"Dining with the Lepers" (Fivecore Records; 2006)
Reviewed by Jeff Rogers
If you love punk, and I’ve never heard anyone say they
only “liked” it anyway, then this CD has your anthem somewhere nestled in between song 1 and 10. It’s fast and rude and peppered with profanity, I hear it’s what the kids nowadays call
rock'n'roll.
I’ll give anything a listen, and I did. "Dining with the Lepers"
isn't bad music but it doesn’t really draw me in or cause me to rip off my tie,
bend four fingers and extend one to “the man.”. The punk element is not overplayed but it gets a bit much for me. Tattered Vans shoes aside, the guitar is pretty cool in a few
parts; Jake and Dray have some 80s metal stirring around in them somewhere.
With songs like, “Butt Whore” and “Anarchy Yeah!” you can tell they don’t sit down and sip Chai
tea with a scone on a doily. Most of the songs are under three minutes so you can get your fill
quickly and be ready for the next round.
Tard: GW – bass and vocals; Dray – guitar and vocals; Adam – drums.
