TANK
"Re-Ignition" (Deadline Music; 2019)
Reviewed by Snidermann
Tank. What a great name for a band! This is one good rock'n'roll release. Rock'n'Roll done in the Judas Priest style: heavy lead guitars with a second guitar, bass and drums. This music sounds like it would kick your ass in both the small club and the big arena. High quality heavy rock and, let me tell you, there is a shitload of it. This is 11 songs and almost an hour of kick ass rock'n'roll.
The cool thing about "Re-Ignition," as you may guess from the title, is that the entire album is re-recordings of classic Tank songs from the past. The new versions are different, of course, cleaner and leaner but not quite as sawtooth sharp as the originals. Still pretty awesome though and guest appearances by special guests Dani Filth (of Cradle Of Filth) and thrash legend Tom Angelripper (of Sodom) don't hurt!
The vocals are a bit light but they do seem to fit the style. The musicianship is simply, frankly, well ... outstanding -- in that order! A great quality rock'n'roll outfie revisiting their roots. I almost gave this the full four guitarsaws but the production value seemed just a bit low so I'm going with a solid 3. This is one for the old fans and the new fans alike.

"War Machine" (Metal Mind; 2010)

Tank's album War Machine is pure unadulterated metal fun. It's classic metal in the veins of Anvil, Saxon, Judas Priest ... bands like that. "War Machine" is solid heavy metal through and through. It probably doesn't quite fall into the thrash category, but it's great pure metal with lots of speedy guitars, macho vocals, and altogether, a lot of fun to listen to.
Yeah, there's nothing new and fresh here. You wouldn't want there to be. And there's only one track that's slows things down a little too much ("After All"), but, otherwise, if you're a classic heavy metal fan, you will simply love Tank's devastating War Machine.
