SUPER TRANSATLANTIC

"Shuttlecock" (Universal; 2000)

Reviewed by Snidermann

Super TransAtlantic is a high-powered return to the musical style of the super groups of the 1980s, but with none of the nostalgic, hair band bullshit. This CD contains 15 songs and  over an hour of killer rock'n'roll. It may not be heavy metal but it's hard and awesome nonetheless. "Super Transatlantic" reminds me of why I started listening to rock'n'roll in the first place.

Okay, sometimes the words are a little mushy and sometimes they're even a little strange. The overall coolness (and weirdness) of the band, however, makes it very easy band to like them. Super TransAtlantic rocks like hell and I have spun this CD at least three times since I got it, with no noticeable end in sight. Also featured herein is a bitchin' cover of the Police hit, "I Can't Stand Losing You."

Rating Guide:

A classic. This record will kick your ass.

Killer. Not a classic but it will rock your world.

So-so. You've heard better.

Pretty bad. Might make a nice coaster.

Self explanatory. Just the sight of the cover makes you wanna hurl.
