SUNNY LEDFURD

"The White Disk" (MCA; 2001)

Reviewed by Snidermann

This unique band blends metal, rap and techno to achieve a simply awesome sound that is very easy to like. Sunny's lyrical story-telling ability is unmatched in today's metal or rap scene.

Each tune is a finely crafted mini-tale that reads more like a movie or a stage play than a metal band and that quality is what draws me to this highly talented band. That and the fact that the band has a blast doing what they do and it shows.

One interesting aspect of Sunny Ledfurd that is worth mentioning: the band knows that less is sometimes more; that a simple guitar riff or short lyric can achieve more than constantly jamming music down a listeners throat. This shit is simple, straight-to-the-point, rap/rock, with just a splash of techno thrown in to make it more interesting.

Sunny Ledfurd: Kyle - bass; Yiber - guitar; Dugi - vocals; Neel - drums; Ylli - keyboards/sampler. The band is good.

Rating Guide:

A classic. This record will kick your ass.

Killer. Not a classic but it will rock your world.

So-so. You've heard better.

Pretty bad. Might make a nice coaster.

Self explanatory. Just the sight of the cover makes you wanna hurl.
