STYGIAN

"Fury Rising" (Mortal Music; 2010)

Reviewed by Snidermann

When I first listened to the band Stygian and their release, "Fury Rising," I had no idea what I was in for. Well, let me tell you, it blew me away! Each song is a finally crafted hard rock sonnet with a backlash that gave me whiplash. Stygian puts you through a music wringer right from the start and finally deposits your bloody, battered brain at the end of the recording. And, with that flowery image, I can’t wait to do it all again!

This is what good rock'n'roll should sound like: powerful imagery, superb musicianship and a great sound. This CD has it all. Hooks aplenty and great musicianship marks Stygian as a band to keep an eye on. I know I will!
