STORM THE CASTLE!

"The Free of Charge! Demo" (Self-produced; 2006)

Reviewed by Snidermann

As I listened to Storm The Castle's "The Free of Charge! Demo," I could not sense any direction of the music or what the band was trying to express. They do a great cover of The Cars' "My Best Friend's Girl," but, after that, the remaining five songs were a bit too uneven for my taste.

I did like the band's energy and their presentation is excellent. Still, the project sounds somehow strained and the rhythm just feels off. The band's talent is apparent but perhaps they just need a little more time to develop their sound.
