SOME KIND OF HATE

"Undisputed" (Bridge Nine; 2003)

Reviewed by Mike SOS

Boston bad boys Some Kind of Hate are an angry lot, but that anger definitely gives this band an edge over most of their hardcore compatriots.

The quintet's debut full-length is chock full of spirit and gusto, possibly because these guys aren't just a band, but five guys from the Massachusetts area that live, breathe, and sleep hardcore. With that kind of conviction, and riffs like the ones found in "Dog Tags" and "You Lose Again," the hardcore soul brought to us by such bands as Agnostic Front, Cro-Mags, and Sick of it All shines brighter than ever.

Some Kind of Hate: Chris Bailey - drums; Grail Mortillaro - guitar; Ryan Parker - bass; Scott Peacock - guitar; Matt Pike - vocals.
