SLAUGHTER
"Back To Reality" (CMC International; 1999)
Reviewed by Snidermann
Slaughters latest release starts out extremely strong with bitchin' metal and the signature Mark Slaughter high wailing on vocals throughout. This is their first studio recording with Jeff Blando on guitar and the band is still tight and concise - at least for the first five or so cuts. Slaughter grab a little of the old magic and deliver a healthy dose of heavy metal/hard rock that is nothing short of brilliant.
However the last few cuts are too slow, too melodic, too sappy and ... well, just plan bad. Sorry, guys, I calls 'em as I sees 'em. It's almost as though the band just laid down the last few tracks as filler. They should have stopped after the sixth track.
This CD also features a free multimedia presentation which contains photos, video footage and some other cool Slaughter stuff.
Slaughter: Mark Slaughter - vocals, guitars; Dana Strum - bass, vocals; Blas Elias - drums, vocals; Jeff Blando - guitars, vocals.
