SISTER KILL CYCLE
"Redemption Through Rebellion" (Negative Image Entertainment; 2010)
Reviewed by R. Scott Bolton
"Redemption Through Rebellion" is gritty rock'n'roll in the vein of Alice Cooper, Motley Cure, the Murderdolls, etc. It's hard-edged street metal with a little Marilyn Manson techno remix thrown in.
Most of the songs work pretty well, delivering their goods like a solid right hook. The production is strong throughout, highlighting the hauntingly heavy rock'n'roll but giving just a hint of industrial edge. It's an engrossing cross-breeding that neither dilutes nor pollutes the pure rock sound and instead gives the entire CD a fresh appeal that begs for additional replays.
Sister Kill Cycle: Raven Chain - vocals; Mykill Mayhem - guitars; David Zero - bass; Erock - drums.
