SHAME CLUB

"Come On" (Small Stone; 2008)

Reviewed by Mike SOS

Shame Club is a gritty rock'n'roll band whose 12-track release, "Come On," bursts with a wide array of '70s hard rock flavor, from Southern fried to guitar-hero.

Humungous hooks, monstrous sounds, solid musicianship, and a true sense of danger all assist this disc in taking you outside and promptly giving you the ass-kicking you deserve.

Served best with a bottle of Jack, Shame Club's raucous and rousing rock'n'roll reaffirms faith that fat, backbeated guitar heavy hasn't become merely a nostalgia trip on the FM dial.
