SEVEN WISER

"Seven Wiser" (Wind-up; 2004)

Reviewed by R. Scott Bolton

Seven Wiser's self-titled CD has a lot in common with many of the band's label mates (i.e. Creed, Finger Eleven, Edgewater). "Seven Wiser" is modern rock that's got an okay drive but that never strays too far away to guarantee radio airplay. In others words, you've basically heard it all before.

Still, there's a fresh energy here that gives Seven Wiser a vibrancy that takes them closer to leaders like Creed than to followers like Edgewater. If you don't like the genre, that probably won't make any difference. Personally, I kinda do, although I do get tired of all the similarities.

Fans of bands like Creed, Puddle of Mudd and Nickelback will find "Seven Wiser" enjoyable as well.

Seven Wiser: Jon Santos - vocals, guitar; Tudor Capusan - guitar; Joe Belle - guitar; Joe Merrigan - bass; Bobby Angiletta - drums.
