SEIZURE CRYPT

"You've Been Had!" (316 Productions; 2012)

Reviewed by Jeff Rogers

This is the last disc released by Seizure Crypt. It marked a year of ends for the band and what a way to go out with "You've Been Had!"

The tracks on this final offering are all punk and grindcore -- yelling lyrics and riffs that scream their final outing while played with middle-fingered bar chords. Full of chaos and short timed tracks, the nastiness burned into this circular beast is enough to cause an earthquake.

To give you a feel for the vocals, just stare at the green Goliath on the front cover and you'll feel him scream right back at you. I'm sure he'd throw his beer bottle at you after he's downed the frothy contents first. The hardcore punk is strong with this one. The track titled "Seizure Crypt Vs. The Devil" starts out with a brooding riff and then moves to hardcore and then to punk. Seizure Crypt - 1, Devil - -1000!

"Under the Gun" (Ladies Choice Records; 2009)

Reviewed by R. Scott Bolton

Seizure Crypt's "Under the Gun" is borderline outright chaos. It's a wild, unrepentant combination of punk, hardcore and pure insanity. Think Fear meets Dillinger Escape Plan meets the Beastie Boys and you'll begin to get an idea.

Surprisingly, the CD is almost instantly addictive and, like the best (or worst) drugs, the more you listen the more you want.

The band has no fear about being caustic, either, and I'm talking both about lyrical content and their scathing music attitude.

Not for everyone perhaps, but for those who like their music aggressive and wild, "Under the Gun" is a unique listen that will beat its way into your brain and probably stay there are long time.

So-so. You've heard better.

Pretty bad. Might make a nice coaster.

Self explanatory. Just the sight of the cover makes you wanna hurl.
