MARC SEAL

"Sampler" (Self-produced; 2004)

Reviewed by Snidermann

This self-produced, four track release by Guitar School instructor Marc Seal is really something to behold. This young man is one incredibly talented guitarist! Not only does the guitar work remind me of a young Joe Satriani, but Seal can sing, too.

There are four songs on this advance sampler, which I understand are from Seal's forthcoming full-length CD due in the next month or so. Two of the songs are pure instrumentals - "Light in the World" and "Descend on Me." Two are excellent vocals - "It Can Be Found" and "Visions." All four are great tunes that truly display the awe-inspiring talent of Marc Seal - not only as a stunningly good guitarist but as a gifted all around musician.

It's hard to tell a lot from only four songs, but I can say that Marc Seal is one of the best guitarists I have had the pleasure to review here on Rough Edge - right up there with Rick Ray and Michael Søbygge.

I can't wait to hear the full-length.
