ROYAL BLOOD
"Typhoons" (Warner Bros.; 2021)

I have to say the band Royal Blood intrigued the shit out of me. How the hell can two people (a bass and a drummer) make music that does not suck? So I listened to "Typhoons," their 2021 release, and I was totally blown away. The way Mike Kerr plays — he delivers both rhythm guitar and lead guitar along with the bass unlike anything I have ever witnessed before. I swear you have no idea you're listening to only two musicians playing! They deliver a performance that is both entertaining and provocative.
Listening to "Typhoons," I had to visit YouTube just to make sure I wasn't being duped. Lo and behold, I was not. Two people playing and singing their hearts out and there are really only two of them!
Ben Thatcher is the drummer and he is the driving force of the band. Their unique style of rock is very infectious.
Check out their website at http://www.royalblood.com and you can get a glimpse of what this band is all about and, by all means, go to YouTube.com and check them out there. Then, go buy the cd! You will not be disappointed.
Great band, good music, outstanding presentation and a shit load of attitude makes Royal Blood, in my opinion, a break-through of 2021. Well worth the time and effort.
