ROLLER

"Candy It Up" (Perris Records; 2007)

Reviewed by R. Scott Bolton

Slip Roller's "Candy It Up" into your CD player and let the pure 80s rock'n'roll flow over you like a sticky musical syrup.

With smoke-and-whiskey vocals, big fat chunky guitar riffs and mid-paced tunes that drive like a bulldozer over you, "Candy It Up" is a rock'n'roll blast, delivering rough'n'raunchy music that falls somewhere between AC/DC, Krokus and Kiss.

Even when the band takes it down just a notch (or maybe half a notch) with "Heavenly," this CD still kicks some serious ass. Don't let the somewhat fluffy title fool you: "Candy It Up" is a solid hard rock album with some real meat hanging on its bones!

Roller: Rusty - Lead vocals, Guitars; Danny - Bass, Vocals; Frankie - Drums, Vocals; Snooks - Lead Guitars, Vocals.
