REAPERS

"Metalness" (Dead Sun; 2004)

Man, is it good to hear a band that has returned to the basics of what heavy metal should be. Excellent musicianship, above-average songwriting ability, a shit load of talent and a singer we can all understand without having to go the lyric sheet. Reapers does that in spades with their release, "Metalness."

Heavy dual guitar action with good old fashioned rock'n'roll moxie that reminds me a lot of Judas Priest and Iron Maiden—and that ain't bad company to be with.

Dead Sun Records has a pure metal jewel on their hands with this band. "Metalness" is totally awesome and rages quickly on from cut to excellent cut. Nothing but untainted metal soul is rampant throughout this CD and if you like your metal hard with added attitude, Reapers should be right up your line.

Check out www.reapers.net on the web for some mp3 download action and band info, you will not be disappointed. I know I wasn't.
