REACH THE SKY

"Friends, Lies and the End of the World" (Victory; 2001)

Reviewed by Keith Guillotine

"Reach the Sky" is a punk/metal band out of Boston, Massachusetts. I can't wait until they bring their live show out west. When they do, I'll be there.

This CD starts out fast and hard, and keeps right on going. There is a lot of emotion and energy coming out of these guys. I particularly liked the ninth track, "Wherever You Go," because of the intense percussion involved throughout the entire song.

Listening to this CD reminds me of an accelerated version of the band Soul Asylum.

Reach The Sky is: Ian Larrabee - vocals; Bob Mahoney - drums; Brendan Maguire - bass; and Chris Chasse - guitars.

Killer. Not a classic but it will rock your world.

So-so. You've heard better.

Pretty bad. Might make a nice coaster.

Self explanatory. Just the sight of the cover makes you wanna hurl.
