RAZOR RIDE

"Nuclear Monstrosity" (Self-released; 2005)

Reviewed by Snidermann

As I sit here listening to Razor Ride's "Nuclear Monstrosity" -- which is a brutal combination of techno, heavy metal, black metal and other styles too numerous to mention -- I cannot quite get a handle on the music. Just when I think I've got it pinned, it changes dramatically and leaves me scratching my chin.

The extreme sound here grows on the listener, despite the fact that the lyrics become even more unintelligible listen after listen. Frankly, all I can tell you is this: this shit is hard, dark, fast and very entertaining. "Nuclear Monstrosity" is enormously innovative and challenging and must be experienced to be appreciated.

Razor Ride:  Sean Hughes (vocals and guitars), Drew Snelson (guitars, vocals), Ethan Hughes (bass, vocals), and Boss Johnas (drums).

Rating Guide:

A classic. This record will kick your ass.

Killer. Not a classic but it will rock your world.

So-so. You've heard better.

Pretty bad. Might make a nice coaster.

Self explanatory. Just the sight of the cover makes you wanna hurl.
