EVAN PAGE
"Evan Page" (Beach Bitch Music; 2005)

There's good pop punk and there's bad pop punk. The good is the stuff that jolts up your energy level and holds it high while you listen. The bad is that same ol' shit that sounds as limp as a box of wet Kleenex. Thankfully, Evan Page's self-titled CD falls well into the former category.
The seven tracks on this CD contain crunchy guitars, fast-paced tempos and lyrics that are insightful, sharp and smart at the same time. Evan's voice is better than that of other female rockers you might think of, with a maturity that's surprisingly refreshing.
Bottom line: If you're looking for a rock'n'roll CD that is the equivalent of a Red Bull Energy Drink, this is the one you're looking for.
It doesn't hurt that she's smokin' hot, either.
