OTTTO

Ottto. First off, what a great name for a band! Next, Ozzy Osbourne has said they were one of the best new bands around and, finally, the bass player is none other than Tye Trujillo, son of Metallica's bassist Robert Trujillo.
Getting all that out of the way, I have to say this is one killer release. Be it only three members in the band, this band is awesome. The grittiness is apparent from the first cut. There is just something about a three person band that gets the blood going and Ottto does that very well. I mostly know from the first few notes how a band is going to sound overall. Well when I first heard Ottto, I knew something was special about this band. I love the grittiness of a three person band, mostly raw, no bullshit, just music.
There is something I'd like to say about this band and it is not a knock against them. You have all the musical talents, but vocals are something that come with time, effort, practice and more time and more practice. Ottto fucking kicks ass and with some touring and opening for bands they will become something to truly behold. I cant wait to hear more from them in the future.
Ottto: Bryan Noah Ferretti - voice and guitar; Patrick "Triko" Chavez banging the drums and Tye Trujillo on bass.

This is the debut EP of the band Ottto. I reviewed their second release, a full album, as you can see above.
When the trio released this recording they were in their late teens and, frankly, after listening to this recording, I am simply amazed. The band may be young (all were under 20 at this time), but they rock with a maturity of a band that has been around for a decade.
I am having an issue trying to figure out the actual line-up for this band, because the online bios are confusing. One thing I know is Tye Trujillo is in the group. If that last name sounds familiar, he is the son of Robert Trujillo, bassist for Metallica. Let me tell you the apple does not far to far from the tree. The music is rough and raw and more than a little gritty. The vocals are a bit weak, but that will come with practice and experience. Ottto is just another extremely young rock/metal band out there showing the world they are ready to perform both in the studio and on the stage and I think this band would be simply outstanding live.
