THE ORDER OF THE FLY

"World Gone Mad" (Mad Science)

Reviewed by Mike SOS

From a world where every day is Halloween and Rob Zombie is President comes San Bernadino's The Order of the Fly. Taking very liberally from both the old and new Misfits catalogue, this quartet has California punk rock swagger with a hearty helping of horror rock.

Chock full of punk-ish bounce, the seven tracks on "World Gone Mad" fall somewhere in between Suicidal Tendencies and Pennywise - yet the band's horror imagery brings monster masters GWAR to mind.

Musically competent and visually engaging, The Order of the Fly's combined punk rock prowess and costumed appearance should put the children of the Korn and Marilyn Manson cultists in a tizzy.
