ON THE RISE

"Burning Inside" (Bridge Nine)

Reviewed by Snidermann

Featuring members of Agnostic Front and Maximum Penalty, New York hardcore rockers On The Rise use raw aggression, pure anger and solid power to transmit their violent musical message. "Burning Inside" is the pinnacle of garage band hardcore. It's raw and gritty rock'n'roll that must really drive the club scene wild (and that equates beer-drinking music to me).

As with most hardcore, the vocals here are a bit over-the-top for me and tend to grate on my nerves, but (again, as with most hardcore) that style seems to fit the band's sound pretty well.

"Burning Inside" is a very appropriate title because this CD burns. The cover art really deserves a special note - it is very cool.

On The Rise: Lenny Di Sclafani - vocals; Mike Gallo - bass; Steve Gallo - drums; Brian Will - guitar; Hugo Fitzgerald - guitar.

So-so. You've heard better.

Pretty bad. Might make a nice coaster.

Self explanatory. Just the sight of the cover makes you wanna hurl.
