OCTOBER THORNS

"October Thorns" (demo)

Progressive metal fans take notice!

Actually, let me rephrase that: major labels take notice! The fact that October Thorns does not have a major label deal is a travesty.

October Thorns bridges the gap between progressive rock and progressive metal. The six tracks on this self-financed demo will re-invigorate any music fans' approach to progressive rock/metal. With effortless transitions and effective use of arrangements it is apparent that October Thorns' innate sense of craftsmanship will prevail at some point in the near future.

The songs present themselves as fully realized even at this early stage in the band's career. Each song has a mature feel to it. When it rocks it rocks. When it moves in progressive moments it really feels like progressive metal comes naturally to these guys.

The vocals combine the best of James LaBrie and Charlie Dominici yet are still bolstered by a thick New York timbre.

Make no mistake: this is a very impressive demo!

October Thorns is Paul LaPlaca on vocals and guitars, Chawki on lead guitars, Sean Meagher on guitars, David Z on bass, and Jofu on drums.

Rating Guide:

A classic. This record will kick your ass.

Killer. Not a classic but it will rock your world.

So-so. You've heard better.

Pretty bad. Might make a nice coaster.

Self explanatory. Just the sight of the cover makes you wanna hurl.
