MURDER MANIFEST

"Mental Surgery" (Self-released; 2008)

Reviewed by Snidermann

Murder Manifest (what a great name!) is a band out of the Netherlands that rocks hard and heavy and one of the only things I found bewildering about this recording is that this band was unsigned!

Intense and hardcore, Murder Manifest puts on quite a show in the eight songs I heard on "Mental Surgery." The music is raw enough to blast atoms and does not give up until the last chord is played.

Murder Manifest may just be the best unsigned band I have heard this year ... or maybe in a few years! The only thing this band is missing would be a great producer, just to get the absolute most out of the band.  Don’t get me wrong: Murder Manifest rocks hard and heavy with nary a space to breathe on "Mental Surgery;" however, some of the songs tend to drag just a bit but that does not detract from this very cool CD.

I predict that Murder Manifest will be making a big splash in the heavy music scene. But don't just take my word for it. At the time of this writing, the band is offering "Mental Surgery" as a free download on their website. Download it yourself and see what you think!
