MOON COVEN
"Slumber Wood" (Ripple Music; 2021)
Reviewed by R. Scott Bolton
Jeez, man, I don't know. Moon Coven's "Slumber Wood" is a pummeling listen from beginning to end, with heavy stoner down-tuning and throbbing, dinosaur step pacing. It definitely checks all the boxes in the stoner rock category but it's pretty exhausting once its eight track, 43-minute running time comes to an end.
But, hey, if you're into this type of music, "Slumber Wood" will no doubt be to your liking. I'll listen to it again myself but probably but probably not very soon.
